Had a great time, all went well, the staff was excellent and the property was exactly as listed.

Overall it was great! The golf cart made it! We love Catalina, so we took advantage of every minute!

We stayed here for the first time this past July. We are long term CIVR clients, ( 8 years now), but our prior rental was no longer available so we decided to try this unit out.
The kitchen is beautiful and the granite countertops and cabinetry are very nice. However the supplied plates & glassware were at a minimum. Having stayed in other rentals, we had many more bowls and cups to choose from. here we didn't even have enough for 5 people even though the maximum occupancy is 6 so we had to wash dishes constantly.
The condo is also pretty dark, a fresh coat of paint could work wonders. While the furnishings are ok we didn't have enough chairs for everyone to sit at the table together, again with a maximum occupancy of 6 you'd expect 6 dining chairs not 5 and the table was very rickety, The laminate floors downstairs were easy to keep clean.
The upstairs bedrooms were laid out really well and the 2 upstairs bathrooms were also the best layout we've experienced at Sol Vista. Our kids appreciated each having their own bed but the bedding while clean, had visible wear & tear. (actual rips & holes!) In the master, the room was spacious & nice but there was no seating other than the bed. It's nice to have at least a chair or bench to sit on & there is plenty of room to allow for it. The mirrored closet doors are great especially since there is very little counter space in the bathroom but without any side table or chair I had to use my suitcase as a makeshift table to set my makeup bag, brush, or flat iron down while getting ready unless I wanted to go all the way downstairs.
Having wifi was a huge saving grace especially since the TV in the kids bedroom didn't work and there was no television at all in the master. not a big deal since we don't go on vacation to watch TV, but still compared to other rentals in Sol Vista this leaves a lot to be desired.
The location is the absolute top of the complex so its a hike to get to, nice that its quiet but the master balcony faces terrace road so the golf carts do travel up & down frequently as well as hikers & bikers. The included golf cart is the best way to get around.
Overall if some basic improvements could be made this would be a nice rental but with the amount of money charged for a weeks rentals we are going to try something else to hopefully get a better value. its just a bummer we won't be in the same complex as the rest of the family next summer. **VRBO GUEST**
