The Gala is on! Ring in the new year with an elegant evening of dining and dancing at the 48th Annual New Year's Eve Gala Celebration, Friday, December 31, 2021, in the world-famous Casino Ballroom on Catalina Island. Dress in your finest and step back in time to the ambiance of the Casino Ballroom’s stylish sophistication. Reservations for this year’s event are $199 per person. Online reservations sales are OPEN.

The New Year's Eve Gala includes a gourmet buffet dinner and dessert (view menu. PDF File), dancing, one champagne split per person, party favors and the classic midnight balloon drop! A professional photographer will be available on the Mezzanine level to capture the moment.

SCHEDULE

The Casino doors open at 6:45pm. Guests will be admitted upstairs into the Ballroom no more than 15 minutes before their chosen reservation time. Guests arriving early to the Casino may wait in the Marine Bar on the Mezzanine level, where seating, light entertainment and beverages will be available until 9:00 pm. Dinner reservations for your table are accepted for 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, or 8:30 pm. The buffet dinner will be available until approximately 9:30 pm and the band will perform until approximately 12:30 am.  Menu items are subject to change and/or substitution without notice.

TABLE LOCATION & RESERVATION TIME
Regardless of the time of your reservation, tables are yours for the entire evening. 
Select your dinner reservation time: 7:00, 7:30, 8:00 or 8:30 pm.
Select your seating section location: Section A, B, C or D (view seating chart)

Your seating requests will be honored as long as seating for your requested time and location is available. Reserve early as seating sections and dinner reservation times are limited and do sell out. 

Reservations should include everyone who is to be seated together and will be accepted under one name for the entire party. Should there be a change in your party size, please contact us immediately to see if we can accommodate you. The closer to New Year's  Eve, the more difficult (or impossible) it will be to make changes.

HOW DOES SEATING WORK?
Parties of 2: in order to keep the dance floor as large as possible, parties of 2 will be seated with one or more other parties of two. A limited number* of private tables for two (*28 tables total) are available on a first-come, first-served basis, at an additional cost of $75 per couple/table. As of 11/30/21, private tables are sold out.
Parties of 3 to 10: parties of 3 to 4 may be seated with other parties of two or more; parties of 5 to 10 will be seated at individual tables.
Parties of 11 or more will be seated at two or more tables next to each other.

PAYMENT
All reservations must be accompanied with full payment, and reservations will be confirmed by email.  Payment may be made by VISA, MasterCard, or American Express. Online reservations are now open! 

CANCELLATION POLICY - ALL SALES ARE FINAL
Reservations are non-refundable. Should you be unable to attend after purchasing reservations, please notify us prior to the event by sending an email to info@lovecatalina.com. The name on your reservation can be changed to a friend or family member if you would like to gift them a celebration to ring in the new year on Catalina Island.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Due to the significant uptick in COVID-19 infections that the Omicron variant has brought and with advice from the Los Angeles County Public Health Department, we have elected to require all attendees of the 2021 New Year’s Eve Gala, to provide either a proof of COVID-19 vaccination or test showing a negative result.

For those who cannot provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status you are required to obtain a verified negative COVID-19 test within 1 day prior to the event for an antigen test and within 2 days of the event for a PCR test prior to entry into the event.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the attire?
For gentlemen a coat and tie is required, black-tie optional.  For ladies, evening cocktail wear to formal ball gowns. A coat check will be available throughout the event on the Mezzanine level.

Are children allowed?
Yes, however, the pricing is the same - $199 per person, regardless of age. 

What if I have a special diet?
All gluten-free and vegetarian items will be labeled on the menu and buffet. Please indicate any dietary allergies at the time of reservation and the Chefs will do their best to accommodate your needs.

What if I want to sit with friends that are also attending the event?
In order to guarantee that your parties are all seated together, your reservation should be made under one name for the entire party and include everyone who is to be seated together. 

How do I get to the Casino? It's just a short 5-minute walk from the center of town; there are also taxis available.

Where is my ticket?
There are no “tickets” issued for the event. Your reservation confirmation/name of your party will serve as your entry into the Gala. Your entire party must be present to check in as a group and to enter the event. Confirmation receipts are sent via email once a reservation has been made. 

Can I make a reservation by phone? 
No, we are only accepting reservations online.

Do I need to wear a mask at the event?
Yes, except for eating and drinking. The State of California Department of Public Health has instituted a statewide indoor mask mandate effective from December 15, 2021 through January 15, 2022. 

Will there be a vaccination or COVID test verification site?
We will offer verification of test or vaccination at the Catalina Island Visitor Center during the following times:

• December 30: 9 am – 5 pm
• December 31: 9 am – 3 pm

Upon verification you will be fitted with a wristband which must be worn to the event. We will also be offering verification in the Avalon Theater lobby on the ground floor of the Casino, after 6:30 pm on December 31, preceding the Gala.

What are the specifications for the COVID test?
For those who cannot provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status you are required to obtain a verified negative COVID-19 test within 1 day prior to the event for an antigen test and within 2 days of the event for a PCR test prior to entry into the event.

• You must have a photo ID that matches the name of the test result recipient
• The test was taken within the last 2 days (if PCR/NAAT) or 1 day (if antigen), AND
• The type of test is antigen (Ag) or PCR/NAAT COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2, AND
• The result is from a laboratory or healthcare or test provider or patient platform for the healthcare provider (e.g., Healthvana, CommonPass, CLEAR Health Pass)
• A COVID-19 self-test, sometimes referred to as “home test,” is not acceptable.
