Catalina Island is home to fascinating array of homes. From dramatic ocean-view estates to quaint beach cottages, Avalon’s homes run the gamut from lavish to quirky.
Thanks to the Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation, Catalina Island residents and visitors will soon have an opportunity to see several of Avalon’s homes all decked out for the holidays. The inaugural Holiday Catalina Home Tour will take place on Saturday Dec. 12 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The afternoon begins at another exclusive location, the Catalina Island Yacht Club, normally open only for members. Tour participants will enjoy refreshments at the yacht club before visiting four Avalon homes and a hidden wine cellar. Transportation between the homes will be provided, although not all homes are ADA accessible.
Tickets for the Holiday Home Tour are $50. Proceeds benefit the Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation, which supports Avalon’s only hospital, the Catalina Island Medical Center. Serving both residents and visitors, CIMC includes an emergency department that is staffed around the clock, a radiology department, physical therapy and skilled nursing. The medical group office portion of the facility offers physician appointments during regular office hours for non-emergency care.
