Thanks to the Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce and the Xceptional Music Company, the Emerald Isle will come to Southern California on March 19, with a beer garden and a live Irish rock band.
Sponsored by Catalina Island Vacation Rentals and Catalina Island Real Estate, the Emerald Isle weekend begins at noon with a beer garden. The Humble Hooligans, a classic Irish pub band, take the Wrigley Stage at 4 p.m., bringing both traditional and contemporary Irish favorites to Avalon.
The beer garden and concert will be held on the same day as the Catalina Conservancy Marathon, one of the many endurance events that challenge athletes on Catalina Island’s rugged terrain. Marathoners will begin in Two Harbors and run through a challenging 26 miles to Avalon. Racers may also choose to compete in a 10K or 5K and for children, a Kids Fun Run.
For several years, the Xceptional Music Company has produced a series of popular concerts in Avalon for its Summer Concert Series. The family-friendly concerts return again this year with great dancing-in-the-streets concerts on Wrigley Stage throughout the spring and summer.
