Welcome to Hamilton Cove Villa 8-87

This two bedroom, two bath end villa comes with incredible ocean views and is just steps from the beach. It's a great location because the pool, Jacuzzi and gym are the next building over. Color TV/DVD player, fully equipped kitchen, ocean front balcony, FREE wireless internet, and the little extras make this unit comfortable and accommodating. The master bedroom suite has a king size bed and a wonderful view of the ocean. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and there is a queen aerobed in the living room. No smoking, please, and this is a "no shoe" home. 54 steps from golf cart parking space up to villa. For ease in unloading luggage or groceries, only 42 steps down from road above (Stairway near H897).1030 sq. feet. H887

Rental of a vacation home in Hamilton Cove includes use of the community’s amenities (pool, spa, health club, 18-hole putting course, tennis courts, croquet court, sand volleyball court and beach area with built in barbecues and picnic tables). Some restrictions may apply. Occupants subject to Hamilton Cove Homeowners Association Rules & Regulations.

This vacation home rents on a nightly basis (2 night minimum, holidays and selected dates excepted; 3 night minimum July & August)

There is no air conditioning available for this property.

100/10 - that is not a typo. This was the most exclusive, luxurious yet local way to experience Catalina. So many of my friends said they never knew Catalina could look like it did from where we stayed. We already can’t wait to return!

This home is beautiful and the views are spectacular. The home was spacious, perfect for families. Although we didn’t utilize the pool/gym the unit was pretty close to it. Having the golf cart was definitely the cherry on top. You can definitely still walk down the hill but having the cart made going into the main part of Avalon a lot easier. The beds are super comfy and the living room is a cozy hangout area. The balcony is also a great size, perfect for having lunch and enjoying the view.

Wow! What a amazing place to stay! This place had a beautiful view, right on the water. The golf cart we had access to was so handy and perfect for our group. We had such a good time and enjoyed staying here. The only issue we came across was some cleanliness and there wasn’t much cleaning supplies to help clean up after ourselves.

Our family had such an amazing time! The view was incredible, it was quiet, and we loved playing at the private beach. Our kids also loved riding in the golf cart to go to the Main Street. I would absolutely recommend this condo to anyone that is thinking of vacationing in Avalon.

The unit was great clean and spacious. However, I assumed there was air conditioning and it turned out the wasn't. The next time I rent a unit I will double check. Other than that we had a great stay at this unit

The property suit our needs. The golf cart was a necessity and the kids loved it. Everything was clean and well kept as was advertised. We like the no shoes policy. The complex is nice. We didn’t get a chance to use some of the amenities, except the pool. we would recommend it and rent it again.

Stayed here with my family Thursday-Sunday over Spring Break 2018. Wonderfully furnished, very warm bright open condo in Hamilton Cove on Catalina just outside of Avalon. The Condo was very clean, and comfortable. All linens and towels were clean. Condo was fully furnished and even had extra floor bedding for the little ones. Kitchen was fully outfitted with all utensils for mealtimes. BBQ worked great and propane was even full. The golf cart was a must as this Condo is approx. 1 1/2 miles out of Avalon once you pick up the keys in town. Cart ran like a dream and seated 6 like it says. Back seats of the cart fold out for luggage hauling. The Condo was equipped with all sports gear to be used in Hamilton Cove. Tennis rackets, golf putters, pool toys, balls were all there. 3 full size beds with the sofa pull out, and 2 floor beds. This condo could technically sleep 8, although we did not violate the 6 person policy. The pool was heated early, and the hot tub was amazing after a days walking, hiking, and scuba diving. We had a fantastic time. This is a wonderful comfy condo with a fantastic view.

A few things to keep in mind. There are a lot of stairs. So if you cannot do stairs steer clear. The balcony is wonderful, but it is a shared balcony, so technically people could walk right by your back door anytime. The neighbors really try to respect each other space though. The location is actually 1.5 miles out of Avalon in Hamilton Cove. The map feature shows it right in Avalon, but it is not. You will have to walk or take a taxi to the property the first day of stay and the last to get there and back. The Cart must be returned full. So be ready to drive the 2 miles to the gas station and back the last night or last day of your stay to fill up the cart as there is only 1 gas station on the island. Regardless of these things it was a fantastic place to stay. We will be back for sure. Thanks.

Stairs were a little difficult but great exercise. Probably need to fumigate. The deck was fabulous and the view was incredible. Felt very at home and comfortable. We loved the location of the property but if you have someone in your party that struggles with stairs then please reconsider, no good way to get to the unit for a person who is not mobile. Nice golf cart and deck. **VRBO GUEST**

The View was breathtaking. The Villa was spacious and contained just about everything we needed for a home-like stay. Kitchen was stocked with utensils, plates, cooking pans, etc. Bathrooms were roomy and clean, although the toilets did not flush well. The rooms work clean and quiet. The best part was being able to barbecue and eat on the balcony and with that view! We loved this place and plan to go again next year.

If you are going to Catalina and staying in avelon...the place to stay is Hamilton Cove villa's. It's close enough, [5 minutes] to enjoy downtown...yet miles away when it comes to peace and quiet... and relaxation. Reservations and check in were easy and we were kept up to date by the Civr staff. Everyone we dealt with on their staff as well as people who worked in the complex were professional yet friendly. Villa 8-87 was a great place to stay. It had all the comforts of home and great views...and is very close to the pool. The only negative I have to say about the Villa is the carpets need to be changed because they are worn. Otherwise we had a great time and I will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful view, comfortable home. There were lots of stairs but the view was totally worth it! The golf cart made it very easy to get into town. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning!

The home was wonderful and very comfortable. It was great that they had the home ready for us earlier than check-in. However, the check out policy were a bit confusing and not clearly detailed in the agreement.

This is the 3rd time we have rented a unit at Hamilton Cove. They are all very different, as the owners are responsible for the furnishings. This particular unit is spacious, clean, has a great view and location is perfect for a quick walk to the beach, the pool, the play area, etc. The BBQ for this unit worked very well. The furnishings are dated. The golf cart was better than some. The only down side is that the multiple stairs to get to the unit, the balcony is continuous without dividers, so your neighbor could be out there right beside you and this unit has a stair access, on the side, that goes directly to the balcony...so you could be surprised by a guest who chooses to come up that stairway. However, it worked to our advantage because we had other family members renting the unit directly below, who found that stairway convenient. When you arrive at the island, you have to stop by the rental office in town to get your keys. Sounds inconvenient, but they were super quick and the taxi drivers know exactly where to go. Also, Civr gave us referral numbers to rent a crib and high chair. It was a great deal and the crib and high chair were delivered and picked up for a very reasonable price. Tip: They are very strict about the number of people in the golf cart and no rental carts are allowed on the property, so we learned from experience, when we have more than 4 people, rent 2 units so that you have the use of 2 golf carts to get to town. When we rented unit 8-87, we also rented unit 8-83, directly below. Worked out great for our group of 8. This review is only about 8-87.

Our family had a great time on this vacation. Hamilton Cove was great place to stay and having the benefit of the golf cart was awesome. The unit we had had a great view of the ocean, the place was quiet and was the perfect place to get some rr.

This was one of my favorite condos I have stayed in at Hamilton Cove. The outdoor and indoor furniture was perfect. The location was probably the best so far. The only feedback I can give you (which is very important to me) is the dishes. They need a new set of dishes because not only were they a little old they were not very clean. If you bought a new (even Ikea) set of dishes the condo would be perfect! Also, it would be nice if you could check in and get your keys at the guard gate so you don't have to make a stop in the taxi. It is always a wonderful experience and I love the pitch and put!

Catalina Island Vacation Rentals were very efficient and courteous in booking our rental. We have stayed in this same home for 10-11 days for five consecutive years while attending the JazzTrax Festival in October. We book the same unit before leaving each year. The unit is well furnished and kept up very nicely, home away from home. This home has an excellent view and the floor plan is very open. Highly recommend but not during our week - we've got it booked!!!!!

We stayed in unit 8-87. The location is close to the pool/hot tub and beach. We spent most evenings on the balcony enjoying the beautiful ocean view and cool breezes. There is no A/C but unit stayed cool enough with french doors and windows open. The unit shares a balcony with 3 other units. Villa is well-maintained, nicely furnished and comfortably sleeps us and our 3 teenage children. Pros: Location, decor/furnishings Cons: cart was hard to start and dishwasher does not clean dishes well (too old);

We had a well maintained end unit, with a view of the bay, and with the windows open, we could hear the surf all night. The amenities were wonderful, with even the basics in the cupboards, and floats, croquet equipment and tennis racquets. The pool and the beach were close by. The golf cart was a great bonus, and we loved seeing the deer and the kitty cats at dusk near Descanso beach. It was a very relaxing vacation, and Hamilton cove reminded us of a mediterranean villa, only with all the amenities of home!

We loved the location, ammenities and the view. It needs a good scrubing/renovation and all the dishes need to be taken out of the cabinets are re-washed. Ew! So many things were dirty, I just decided to wash everything before I used it. I think you may be overpaying for housekeeping. The bedding and blinds need to be renovated as well. It was good enough. Expensive for what I got.

Great location. Beautiful view from spacious patio. Clean, roomy, comfortable condo. Right across from laundry as well. Having the golf cart with the unit is a must so that was a definite plus! Check in and out was easy. Will return!

We have traveled to Catalina Island on and off for the past twenty years and have finally found the perfect vacation rental for our family! The unit was beautifully decorated, clean, well equipped with tennis rackets, crochet set etc... which was perfect for our kids. The views were spectacular and the unit offered easy access to the dock, beach volleyball court and private beach! We actually booked our trip for 2009 during our stay-we loved the unit that much!
